Use
The BT-2 bat box is a so-called wall scale for bats. This bat box is intended to be mounted on the outside wall of a building. The BT-2 is a typical flat box that is easy to install and offers a nice hiding place for various types of bats. The cabinet consists of one room. The space in the box narrows from the entrance down to the end. To enter the box, bats can just land on the wall and then crawl into the box. This makes the bat box easily accessible. The BT-2 is suitable as a summer residence for smaller bat species. But also as a shelter in a winter residence such as a cellar or a bunker.

Material
The cabinet is made of sustainable wood concrete. This is a natural material without any chemical additives. The wood fiber comes from a local sawmill in Poland. The bat box is unpainted. Due to the rough surface that is so characteristic of wood concrete, bats have a lot of grip and can easily move around inside the box. You do not need to maintain the BT-2 bat box. All feces automatically fall out of the cabinet at the bottom. It is advisable to check the box once a year for contamination by, for example, spider webs. Wood concrete also has the advantage that the temperature inside the box remains stable. The box is therefore characterized by a low heat loss, resulting in a microclimate that is ideal for bats.
Placement and Assembly
The BT-2 can be mounted on the outside wall of a building. You can easily screw this shelter into the wall with three screws. Hang the box at least 4 to 5 meters high. Preferably choose a sunny, sheltered spot, without rain. Do not place the box under or in artificial light. If you have enough space, we recommend hanging some cabinets together.
