This box provides a good compromise between weight, size and enlarged brood chamber. The larger brood chamber depth ensures more movement space is available, e.g. for training flying muscles. Easy to install with the two mounting brackets and fixing materials supplied as for Type No. 17A.
Installment
The minimum height below the entrance hole must be 6 to 7 m above the ground or projecting building parts. However, greater heights are always possible. There should be no protruding parts, roof parts, pipes, etc. under the entrance hole, because the swift flies in and out very steeply. It must therefore run directly and freely downwards below the entrance hole. Applying multiple nesting aids for colony formation is advantageous and is expressly recommended. Swifts do not require a minimum distance from conspecifics; Nest boxes can therefore be placed directly next to each other in rows.
