Schwegler has been producing nesting and built-in blocks for decades to allow birds and bats to settle directly on homes, houses and bridges like this Schwegler Brick Box Type 25A. These are manufactured with SCHWEGLER wood-concrete, which is known for its strength and light weight. The interior of the nest stones resembles a natural woodpecker hole.
That is why they also have an oval bottom container. The dimensions of the nesting bricks correspond to those of common masonry bricks, as they are used today in building houses (except type 27). The dimensions took into account a joint of one centimeter thick. This allows the nesting stones to be inserted into any wall without having to cut a masonry block. This model is based on the Swift nesting stone type 25 and offers a larger interior space with a reduced installation depth of only 15 cm.
The nest and built-in brick can be flush with the facade, plastered or covered with bricks, so that only the relevant fly hole insert is visible. Precise instructions are included. Cleaning is easily possible thanks to the removable entrance hole. At inaccessible sites we recommend securing the removeable entrance hole insert with silicon or some other sealant to prevent it falling out.
