Eggs and young birds are often threatened by predators, which can enter the nesting box through the opening. This protection basket offers protection from predators such as squirrels, martens and cats. Woodpeckers might also sometimes take over a nesting box by chipping away at the entrance. This basket also prevents chipping away of the entrance hole. Preferably mount outside of the breeding season.
