The nocturnal barn owl likes to nest in sheds, church towers and roof trusses. Due to renovations to these buildings, suitable locations are becoming increasingly scarce and it is more difficult for the barn owls to find nesting sites. At night the barn owl hunts small rodents. During the hunt it usually flies low over the ground. This barn owl, which is tailored to the needs of the owl (a dark nesting spot), is a suitable nesting place for these elegant animals. The partition wall on the inside provides extra darkness. It also helps keep martens and other predators out of the nest. The barn owl box is suitable for mounting on sheds, stables and church towers. The nest box is also suitable for placing in attics. The owl must then be able to reach the nest box directly through a hole in the wall. The flight hole should be clearly visible from the outside to the owls and they should be able to approach and fly away easily. Place the barn owl as far as possible to the north or east and 6 to 8 m above the ground.
