Naturalist’s Guide to the Lizards of Southeast Asia is an introductory photographic identification guide to 226 lizard species commonly seen in mainland and maritime Southeast Asia (covering Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, Peninsular and east Malaysia, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Singapore, the Philippines and Vietnam).

High quality photographs from the region’s top nature photographers, some of species that have never before been published, are accompanied by detailed species descriptions which include nomenclature, size, distribution, habits and habitat. The user-friendly introduction covers climate and geography, lizard taxonomy, and habitats. Also included is an all-important checklist of all of the lizards of Southeast Asia encompassing, for each species, its common and scientific name, IUCN status as at 2021 and its status in each country.

Jordi Janssen is an ecologist, herpetologist and conservationist. He has an MSc in Forest and Nature Conservation from Wageningen University in The Netherlands. He works as a program officer for Monitor Conservation Research Society studying the trade in reptiles and amphibians. He has written and contributed to numerous scientific articles on herpetology.

Emerson Y. Sy is a herpetologist based in Manila. He has published two books and numerous scientific papers on amphibians and reptiles. Currently, he is a consultant for Traffic International Southeast Asia, board member of the Biodiversity Conservation Society of the Philippines, and editor of the Reptile and Amphibian Database, Philippines.
